User Guide: Attendance Tracking

Overview

This is the core of the application—tracking your attendance to ensure you meet your targets.

Features

1. Dashboard Overview

• Upcoming Classes: See a list of classes scheduled for today and the near future.
• Quick Status: View the current attendance status of your modules at a glance.
• Warnings: If your attendance for any module falls below your set target (e.g., 80%), a warning card will appear on the dashboard to alert you.

2. Marking Attendance

For each class session (Lecture, Tutorial, Lab, or Group Assignment), you can mark your status:

• Present: You attended the class.
• Absent: You missed the class.
• Cancelled: The class did not take place. Marking this ensures your total percentage isn't negatively affected.

3. Recording an Absence Reason

When marking a session as Absent or Cancelled, a second prompt will appear asking for a reason:

• Select from common reasons using the dropdown (e.g., Sick / Unwell, Medical Appointment, Family Emergency, Travel, Personal Reasons, Lecturer Absent, Public Holiday, etc.).
• Custom reason: Select "Other" in the dropdown to type your own reason.
• The reason is optional — you can skip it by leaving the dropdown at "— No reason —".
• Reasons are visible in the Attendance History screen next to the status.
